What do DA/DR and KD mean?
DA/DR (Domain Authority/Domain Rating) is a metric developed by SEO software companies (like Moz and Ahrefs) to predict a website's ranking potential. It's scored on a 0-100 logarithmic scale. A higher score indicates a stronger backlink profile and a greater ability to rank.
KD (Keyword Difficulty) measures how hard it would be to rank on the first page of Google for a specific keyword, also on a 0-100 scale.
Why is my goal "Highly Unfavorable"?
This warning appears when a low-authority site (low DA/DR) targets a very high-difficulty keyword (high KD). This is the most common mistake in SEO. It's like trying to win a heavyweight boxing match as a featherweight. The calculator identifies this as a "money pit" because the required time and budget are immense, with a low probability of success. The recommended strategy is to build your site's authority by targeting less competitive keywords first.
Does the "budget" include content creation costs?
The model primarily associates the budget with off-page SEO activities that build authority, such as acquiring high-quality backlinks (e.g., through guest posting, digital PR, etc.). It assumes that excellent, rank-worthy content is a fundamental prerequisite and its cost is separate. Without great content, no amount of link-building budget will be effective.
